This 1967 Corvette Roadster with auxiliary hardtop was heavily worn but had all numbers matching when purchased in 2006. The red exterior, red interior, air conditioning, 4-speed manual transmission and power windows are an extremely rare combination. The car's original documents show it was a special order, originally built for a GM executive. Unfortunately, prior parts replacement and service were not performed to the original GM specification.
The restoration goal: National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) Top Flight® award.
The Xtreme project included:
- Complete engine removal, rebuild, and detail to NCRS standards.
- Interior and dash removal and restoration to NCRS standards.
- Chassis and suspension rebuild and detailing.
- Precise overall vehicle detailing to exacting original standard.
In 2008 this little red corvette went on to score a Top Flight in its first NCRS Chapter judged event, scoring 94 points. In September, 2009, the car was judged at an NCRS Regional event and scored an incredible 97.4, earning it a Regional Top Flight.
